Riding through a wet January

Three weeks of nonstop drizzle and the brakes finally started to complain. I swapped the pads for sintered ones from the local shop—noisier but far more confident in the wet. Worth it.

The bigger change was the lights. The old USB front had been flickering and I finally bit the bullet on a dynamo hub rebuild. Two weeks waiting for parts, one Saturday in the shop, and now I have a light that just… works. No more remembering to charge.

Routing tip if you commute around here: the canal path drains terribly past the second lock. Mud bath. Take the back streets, even if it's a bit longer.
